Operations Manager - Ontario

Apave Canada has an immediate, full-time position availablefor an Operations Manager within Ontario. We are looking for an individual who has prior expertise in management and performing NDT activities. This position would be based out of Goderich, Ontario, with travel throughout Ontario required.

Apave Canada has been serving the oil and gas, petroleum and petrochemical, chemical, power generation, pipeline and potash industries since 1953.

Our Canadian operations currently provide services from Edmonton, Calgary, Cold Lake, Fort McMurray, Lloydminster, Nisku, and Red Deer. Our USA operations provide services from 23 office locations, our United Kingdom operations provide services from 7 office locations, and our Australian operations provide services from 5 locations.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee and manage NDT operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of NDT technicians, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to expand our client base and service offerings.
  • Coordinate and schedule NDT projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports related to NDT operations.
  • Ensure all NDT activities are performed safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the NDT industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a managerial role, with a proven track record of leading and developing teams.
  • Strong business development skills, with experience in client acquisition and relationship management.
  • Proficiency in various NDT methods and techniques.
  • Experience in Nuclear, Refining, and Petrochemical industries is required.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada is mandatory.

Safety Requirements:

  • Steel-toe boots are required; Apave will provide additional PPE.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will have access to health benefits and will be required to join a union affiliated with the QCCC.
