Primary Objective
The Summer Hockey Camps Experience Coordinator is responsible for ensuring in the 2025 Summer Hockey Camps deliver the best experience possible to our customers. The role would be at the Bell Sensplex (Kanata), and/or Richcraft Sensplex (Gloucester), and/or Cavanagh Sensplex (Kinburn).

Essential Functions
Ongoing

  • Bring a solutions-focused approach to ensure nothing but excellent customer experience for our Summer Hockey Camps and Clinics.
  • Identify areas of strengths and areas for improvement through:
    • Supervise camp activities and fill out camp supervision checklists
    • Gather feedback from customers in-person and through our on-line feedback avenues
    • Gather feedback from Camp Staff
  • Create step-by-step plans to improve our quality and service delivery.
  • Carry out the plans for improvement and track the impact on guest experience.
  • Meet with Camp Counsellors to deliver coaching moments and performance reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Development Programs Coordinator/Camp Supervisor

Health & Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Responsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) are adhered to, specifically:

  • Working in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations and internal policies and procedures
  • Using or wearing protective equipment, devises or clothing when required
  • Reporting any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger himself or herself or another team member
  • Reporting any contravention of the OHSA, regulations or SSE policies and procedures

Training
Responsible for completing on-line training modules as required, including, but not limited to:

  • Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability - Customer Service Standards Training
  • IASR: Information and Communications Standards
  • Understanding Human Rights Training
  • Ontario Worker Health & Safety Awareness
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
  • Violence and Harassment in the Workplace
  • Required to attend on-site training sessions as scheduled, tentatively set for June 24-26, 2025.

Requirements

  • Able to work flexible hours during the day, Monday-Friday.
  • Must be available to occasionally work evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
  • Must be comfortable and enjoy working with children. Patience with children is essential.
  • Previous child-care experience and Summer Camp counseling experience an asset.
  • Professional, courteous demeanor.
  • Comfortable providing feedback to peers.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral); bilingual (French & English) preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Bilingualism (French & English) is an asset.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
