Company Description:

Liftsafe Group of Companies is a privately owned company that designs, builds, inspects and maintains lifting, material handling, and fall protection systems equipment.

Job Purpose:

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the companys Quality Assurance Program. This role ensures that quality objectives are met across all operations, including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and installation. The ideal candidate will drive a proactive quality culture, manage the quality team, and oversee inspections, audits, and compliance activities to ensure consistent product and service excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Quality Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:

Quality Program Leadership:

  • Develop and maintain quality systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure effective implementation of quality processes across all departments.
  • Oversee document control and ensure proper versioning and accessibility of quality records.

Inspections and Testing Oversight:

  • Manage inspections and testing throughout the project lifecycle from materials receipt to final product delivery.
  • Ensure proper calibration and control of measuring and test equipment.
  • Lead the resolution of quality issues through nonconformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Contract & Project Support:

  • Review customer contracts and technical documents to identify quality-related requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to prepare inspection and test plans, quality plans, and relevant documentation.
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients and external parties on quality matters.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with engineering, production, installation, and procurement teams to maintain alignment with quality objectives.
  • Support vendor qualification and supplier quality assurance efforts.
  • Provide quality guidance and expertise to project teams throughout the execution phase.

Auditing & Continuous Improvement:

  • Plan and conduct internal audits and participate in quarterly management reviews to evaluate system effectiveness and drive improvements.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by leading quality initiatives and facilitating corrective/preventive actions.
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to monitor trends and recommend improvements.

Team Management

  • Lead and mentor quality assurance staff, supporting their development and performance.
  • Ensure appropriate training and competency tracking for employees involved in quality activities.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience applying and interpreting quality standards. Previous experience in the nuclear industry and/or with N299.3-16 would be considered an asset.
  • 3+ years of experience in a quality management or assurance role within a technical or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, inspection processes, and nonconformance management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management tools or software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Frequent and repetitive movement
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely lift and move computer hardware
