JOB TITLE:

Licensed 308A Sheet Metal Worker
SALARY:$35-$41/hr
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our member is looking for a Licensed Sheet Metal Worker to join their Mechanical Services team, in Mount Forest, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, and repair of sheet metal components used in various construction, HVAC, and industrial applications. This role demands precision, technical knowledge, and adherence to Ontario building codes and safety standards. The ideal candidate should possess a high level of technical expertise and have a strong commitment to delivering quality work. You will report to the VP of Mechanical Divisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal components.
  • Manufacture and repair HVAC ducts, metal roofing, flashings, and other sheet metal products.
  • Measure, mark, cut, and shape metal sheets using various hand and power tools.
  • Perform on-site installations, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards.
  • Operate fabrication machinery, such as shears, brakes, and rollers, with precision.
  • Inspect work for quality, accuracy, and durability.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and supervisors.
  • Adhere to workplace safety guidelines and participate in safety training as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certificate of Qualification as a Sheet Metal Worker (308A) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, installation, or HVAC systems.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with sheet metal tools and machinery.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for working collaboratively with other trades and construction teams.
  • Valid G driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
