Summit Search Group has been engaged by Agrihub as we look to recruit their next Payroll & Benefits Administrator. Agrihub provides shared services to 10 well-recognized agricultural brands, with operations in 14 cities and over 300 employees focused on livestock equipment and grain handling solutions. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Payroll & Benefits Administrator will oversee bi-weekly payroll operations and support the administration of employee benefits programs across multiple provinces. This includes managing payroll preparation, employee data, reporting, remittances, and benefit plan administration for employees in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, BC, and Ontario.
The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of payroll processes and legislation, a high level of attention to detail, and a proactive approach to communication and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and process bi-weekly payroll and monthly commission payroll runs for all Agrihub companies.
- Generate payroll and commission reports for management and finance teams.
- Verify timekeeping information, calculate pay, deductions, retroactive earnings, bonuses, and severance as applicable.
- Coordinate payments to employee retirement plans and process remittances as required.
- Maintain electronic and paper-based employee files, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Administer employee benefit plans, process applications, and provide ongoing employee support.
- Handle non-WCB claims management including long-term disability submissions.
- Provide guidance on provincial payroll legislation across multiple provinces.
- Manage the safety footwear reimbursement program.
- Support HR team in organizing employee events and assist marketing with company-supplied clothing as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in payroll administration.
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification or currently working towards it.
- Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking abilities.
- Analytical thinker with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
