Location: All Vancouver Lower Mainland
Responsibilities:
- Install 2-Ply SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) modified bitumen membrane systems using heat welding or cold adhesive application methods for flat or low-slope commercial roofs
- Ensure proper waterproofing by overlapping and sealing layers according to manufacturer specifications
- Install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel
- Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles
- Install single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials (e.g., modified plastics, elastomeric, asphaltic compositions)
- Repair or replace shingles and shakes
- Work on sloped roofs
- Unload tools, prepare materials, and set up required equipment
General Job Duties:
- Knowledge of basic tools and power equipment
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment
- Handle materials and transport them on job sites
- Adhere to safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members
- Maintain job site cleanliness
- Document work progress and report to supervisors
- General clean-up of the site: sweeping, shoveling, removing, and properly disposing of debris and waste materials
Qualifications & Must Haves:
- Solid understanding of construction processes and ability to complete assigned tasks independently
- Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
- Strong awareness of site safety procedures
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs
- Must have your own hard hat, safety vest, gloves, and safety boots
Nice to Haves (But Not Necessary):
- Access to own vehicle or reliable transportation
- Own tools
- Fall Protection, First Aid and/or WHMIS certifications
- Tickets in Heavy Equipment Use
- Reside in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland area
