Summary:
We are currently seeking a meticulous and experienced Payroll & Benefits Coordinator to join our Human Resources Team. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Canadian payroll and benefits regulations, possess excellent organizational skills, and be dedicated to ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. This role involves managing both payroll and benefits administration, making it a crucial position within IVC Vita Health Products.
Responsibilities:
- Key Responsibilities will include:
- Payroll:
- Execute bi-weekly payroll processing for Union, Hourly Non-Union and Salaried employees in compliance with federal and provincial regulations and within the Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Calculate and input statutory deductions, benefits contributions, and other payroll-related transactions.
- Stay informed about changes in Canadian payroll legislation and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, pension plans, and other supplementary benefits.
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding benefits-related inquiries and guide them through the enrollment process.
- Collaborate with benefits providers to resolve issues and ensure seamless benefits administration.
- Complete Journal Entries-Manual and imported.
- Prepare and Submit Monthly Billing-WCB, RRSP, Union Dues, MB Payroll Tax
- ROE's
- Maintain Vacation Accruals for Union, Non-Union and Salaried employees.
- Maintain and review employee timecards.
- Year-end balancing and T4's
- Compliance and Recordkeeping:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and provincial employment laws.
- Ensure that payroll and benefits practices adhere to all relevant regulations.
- Maintain accurate and well-organized records for both payroll and benefits in accordance with company policies.
- Reporting:
- Generate and distribute regular reports related to payroll and benefits for internal stakeholders.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports as needed, considering the specific requirements of reporting standards.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with employees and leadership teams regarding payroll and benefits matters, ensuring clarity and compliance.
- Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to address and resolve any payroll and benefits-related issues.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Proficiency in using UKG Pro & Workforce Management is required.
- Proven experience as a Payroll & Benefits Coordinator.
- Strong knowledge of excel is required
- Experience in accounting principles is preferred as well as experience in preparing Month End journal entries and knowledge of General Ledger accounts.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll and benefits regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially within the Canadian legal framework.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Education, Certification, Licenses & Registration:
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field considered to be an asset
