An established distributor of construction and building products is seeking an experienced Director of Sales to join its senior leadership team. THE SCOPE
As Director of Sales, you will report to executive leadership and play a key role in driving profitable revenue growth, expanding market presence, and leading a high-performing sales organization. This is a hands-on, strategic leadership position—ideal for someone who excels at building strategy, mentoring teams, and driving operational execution.
You will work cross-functionally with business development, marketing, operations, and HR to align efforts and ensure the sales function supports broader organizational goals. This is a role that demands strong commercial instincts, a proactive leadership style, and the ability to lead both from the front and through others.
THE LEADER
We are looking for a proven sales leader from the construction or building supply sector who brings deep industry knowledge, strong market insight, and a reputation for building and leading effective teams. Candidates from across the home improvement and construction supply chain will be considered, including those with experience working for manufacturers, distribution, buying groups, or pro-focused retail environments.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of progressive sales experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity. Experience leading large-scale sales operations—across multiple locations or regions—is strongly preferred. You will understand the needs of project-based, contractor-driven markets, can manage pricing and margin performance, and are equally comfortable in strategic boardroom discussions and day-to-day operational reviews.
