The Spirit of the Position:

The Curb Management Officer is a key part of the front-line operations team at Victoria International Airport (YYJ), ensuring that curbside zones are safely and efficiently managed. This role involves direct engagement with the public, commercial operators, and other staff to enforce parking policies, assist with traffic flow, and promote a safe and welcoming experience for all airport users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service at all times. Assist travelers, respond to questions, resolve disputes tactfully, and provide directions as needed.
  • Actively manage the flow of vehicles in shared use curb areas along the terminal frontage and commercial lanes, ensuring compliance with YYJ Airport protocols and local traffic regulations.
  • Enforce curbside parking time limits, issue citations or honor notices as appropriate, and support safe drop-off and pick-up procedures.
  • Assist and monitor commercial vehicles including taxis, limos, buses, and shuttles; perform spot audits and report unauthorized or non-compliant operations.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious behavior, or operational concerns in curbside and loading zones.
  • Maintain clear pedestrian walkways and help facilitate safe and orderly access to the terminal, especially during high-traffic periods.
  • Maintain respectful, professional relationships with the public, vendors, coworkers, commercial drivers, and airport staff.
  • Provide operational support to other teams (parking, enforcement, auditing, etc.) as needed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate professionally with guests, clients, and teammates.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to providing positive customer service experiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid Drivers License with passenger endorsement if applicable.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • This role is fully outdoors and requires working in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, high winds, extreme cold, and heat.
  • Must be physically capable of standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods of time; up to the full duration of a shift.
  • Exposure to vehicle traffic, noise, and environmental elements is to be expected.
