Position Overview:
Reporting to the Principal, this is an ideal role for a lawyer who is confident managing their own files, thrives on meaningful client work, and wants the freedom and flexibility of a boutique practice—without sacrificing mentorship, collaboration, or purpose.
This position is structured for a lawyer who values autonomy, is comfortable using virtual tools, and is excited to help shape the next phase of the firm's growth. This is a high-impact role with real opportunity for leadership and evolution.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and representation in family law matters including divorce, child custody, spousal support, child support, and property division
  • Manage files independently from intake through resolution with excellence in legal drafting, strategy, and communication
  • Attend court, mediations, and discoveries; advocate for clients at all stages of litigation and settlement
  • Maintain regular, proactive communication with clients about their case progress and outcomes
  • Collaborate with a skilled team of clerks, intake coordinators, and lawyers to deliver seamless client service
  • Participate in team meetings, case strategy discussions, and optional business development efforts as desired
  • Ensure documentation, billing, and timekeeping are accurate and timely
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience practicing family law in Ontario
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Proven ability to manage and advance multiple client matters independently
  • Strong litigation, negotiation, and client-facing communication skills
  • Technologically adept; comfort with remote work and legal software (e.g., LEAP, Clio, or Lawmatics is a plus)
  • Professional integrity, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to delivering high- quality legal outcomes
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with an openness to business development and process improvement
