Belvika is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to maintain the overall quality standards for all products packed and ensuring that the Company's & Client's quality specifications are complied with at all times. The QA Supervisor will be located at 9050 Airport Rd., Brampton, but will oversee 6690 Goreway Dr, Mississauga facility also. The successful candidate will: * Manage the work of 1 QA inspector on the afternoon shift at 9050 Airport Road facility, and 1 QA Coordinator at 6690 Goreway facility. Ensure the team possesses the required skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively, while maintaining compliance with food safety and quality standards. * Proactively uphold the integrity of key standards, including the SQF Code, customer-specific quality and food safety standards, and CFIA/FDA regulations. * Maintain audit readiness at all times by consistently monitoring and ensuring the integrity of QMS programs, records, and floor operations. Conduct regular self-audits and ensure all corrective actions are implemented promptly and effectively. * Lead investigations into quality and food safety-related issues. Conduct root cause analysis and develop effective corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks and ensure continuous improvement. * Oversee the timely and thorough completion of corrective and preventive actions arising from audit findings, non-conformances, or internal investigations. * Drive initiatives for continuous improvement across product quality, efficiency, and food safety. Use customer feedback, and internal performance metrics to identify opportunities for enhancements and implement solutions. * Work closely with cross-functional teams to support the successful launch of new customer accounts, products, and projects. Ensure all food safety and quality requirements are fully met throughout the development and launch process. * Implement and sustain comprehensive quality assurance programs to ensure consistent food safety and regulatory compliance. This includes SQF, HACCP, GMP, and customer-specific standards. * Develop and execute an annual training plan, providing refresher trainings on HACCP/GMP, CCPs, SSOPs, Food Defense, and other relevant food safety topics. Ensure that all team members are up to date on customer standards and best practices. * Follow all Company health and safety policies and procedures and work in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act; * Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the ongoing success of the facility's food safety and quality programs. Education/Work experience requirements: Education: * Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or a related field is preferred. * A combination of relevant education and extensive work experience may be considered in place of a degree. Work Experience: * Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance, food safety, or regulatory compliance within the food manufacturing industry. * Experience working with SQF, HACCP, GMP, CFIA, and other food safety regulations. * Previous experience in investigations and implementing corrective/preventive actions. * Supervisory or leadership experience managing QA personnel is an asset. Certifications (Preferred/Required): * HACCP certification (required) * SQF Practitioner, PCQI certification, etc. (preferred) Key technical & behavioural competencies: * Self-starter who works well under pressure and has great time management skills; * Proficiency with Microsoft Office such as Word and Excel; * Great interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work well both independently and with multiple departments as required; * Knowledge and basic understanding of allergen and pathogen swabbing techniques; * Knowledge of quality auditing, inspection methods; * Detail oriented; * Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task; * Excellent reading, writing, and oral communication skills.
