Position Summary
The Belleville Senators, the AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, are seeking a strategic and creative Content and Game Presentation Manager to lead the clubs efforts throughout the hockey season and beyond. This pivotal role will lead game presentation and video production. The ideal candidatewill play a crucial role in enhancing the overall fan experience, maximizing revenue generation, and ensuring the flawless execution of all media and entertainment initiatives while leading the teams at all games, team events, and select CAA Arena events.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership of the Game Presentation Team
- Create and execute a creative vision for game entertainment that aligns with the brands core values and objectives
- Cultivate brand loyalty by providing exceptional experiences during events that connect with attendees
- Produce the show, including script writing, run of show (coordinate event day), and production room setup
- Incorporate theatrical elements into game presentation to enhance the event experience and engage the audience
- Ability and understanding on how to plan and prepare various audio and camera setups both independently and working with outside contractors
- Basic to advanced knowledge of broadcast engineering and trouble shooting broadcast hardware
- Act as the primary point of contact for all home games
Video Production
- Drive the content production that aligns seamlessly with brand initiatives, exploring opportunities for both long- and short-form series across various platforms
- Ensuring quality and relevance are maintained before any material is finalized
- Work effectively with other departments to identify and optimize revenue opportunities through creative content strategies
- Manage and oversee video pre-production planning and on-site production activities for organization, along with internal and external clients. Note this includes filming and editing.
- Concentrate on crafting brand storytelling through compelling video content that engages and informs fans.
- Develop captivating content and entertainment experiences that successfully boost partnership revenues and improve ticket sales
Business Planning and Financial Oversight
- Lead the business planning and budgeting processes for all content and gameday initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Diligently monitor financial budgets to ensure responsible fiscal management and compliance with established guidelines
- Develop and establish systems and processes that enhance creative output while also streamlining operational workflows
- Identify the right vendors that enhance growth and functionality in all areas managed in this role
Management and Development of Staff
- Responsible for hiring and scheduling of all team members including Part-Time Gameday staff, promoting a collaborative environment that inspires innovation and creativity. Part Time staff include production assistants, off-ice officials, mascot, DJ, in-game host, & ice crew.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a cohesive brand experience and support overarching business objectives, including revenue generation.
Qualifications
- 35 years of gameday production (calling the show)
- Previous experience in all aspects of video production (i.e., cuts only editing, non-linear editing and script writing).
- Previous experience in live sports and/or TV production is preferred
- React and work well under pressure in a live event situation and under changing conditions as well as adhere to strict deadlines and multitask
- Must have excellentwritten and oral communication skills and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience (or equivalent) with following tech; TriCaster systems, 3Play replay system, MotionRocket LaunchPad, BrightSign, ClickEffects, Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Premiere Pro and After Effects), Canva, Canon mirrorless cameras
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite highly desirable
