THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for a Fire Alarm Project Sales to join our team full-time! You will sell Fire Alarm projects in Kelowna, Victoria and other areas of BC and surrounding areas, working directly with major general contractors, end users, and construction management firms on both new building and existing building renovation projects.

  • Role: Fire Alarm Project Sales Representative
  • Key Responsibilities:
    1. Sales & Business Development:
      • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets (construction, commercial, industrial, etc.).
      • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline through cold calling, networking, site visits, and referrals.
      • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
      • Respond promptly to inbound leads and inquiries.
    2. Client Relationship Management:
      • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, general contractors, consultants, and property managers.
      • Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure client satisfaction and identify opportunities for additional sales (service, upgrades, expansions).
    3. Quoting & Estimating:
      • Collaborate with the estimator and technical team to develop accurate, competitive quotes and proposals.
      • Understand specifications, drawings, and tender requirements to ensure quotes meet project needs and compliance standards.
    4. Technical Knowledge:
      • Stay updated on fire alarm systems, codes, standards (e.g., ULC, NFPA), and market trends.
      • Provide basic technical guidance to clients and coordinate with technical staff for complex issues.
    5. Internal Collaboration:
      • Work closely with project managers, coordinators, and technicians to ensure smooth handoff and execution of awarded projects.
      • Attend regular team meetings to share market intelligence and align on goals.
    6. Sales Reporting:
      • Track and report on sales activities, pipeline status, and performance against targets using CRM tools or other systems.
      • Provide market feedback to leadership on pricing, competition, and client needs.
    7. Compliance & Safety:
      • Ensure all sales activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
      • Maintain certifications and participate in training as required.

  • Primary Objective:
    Drive sales growth by identifying, pursuing, and closing fire alarm system projects while maintaining strong client relationships and collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Communicate all aspects of the change order process with the Project Coordinator to ensure all costs are captured and documented when necessary to work performed beyond the original scope
  • Work closely with the Project Coordinator and field team to ensure all required information is available and that required documents including invoicing and inventory transactions are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure field staff are adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Other supervisory duties as required.

The ideal candidate would have the following strengths and experience:

  • High School Diploma, Red Seal, GSC or PMP.
  • Three plus years of experience as a project manager in the Industrial, Construction, Plumbing or Mechanic industry would be an asset.
  • Three plus years of experience as a project manager in the Fire Protection industry.
  • Ability to work multiple projects at once and work with our superintendent
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both with internal and external customers.
  • Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate and to meet the customer's needs.
  • Possess a strong and active working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Project). Be able to create tracking spreadsheets, reference data in other spreadsheets and create macros.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and self-motivating.
