Seeking a nanny with Early Childhood Education background or experience as special needs Educational Assistant, who can help in the care and development to fullest ability for our 4-year-old with speech and cognitive delay and provokable behavioral aggression. The goal is grooming from full to partial assist then full independence in life with direct supervision, play based learning, and sundry support. Must be able to work with a structured care plan.
Requirements and Duties include:
PATIENCE
The first prerequisite for this job is patience, calm and understanding
TALKING
Child must be intentionally exposed to continuous language: Oral direction, conversation, play based talk and goal directed speech encouragement as appropriate
COACHING
Our child has been very responsive to one-on-one coaching and has demonstrated ability to learn whatever is taught. Successful candidate must have a mindset that gives child time to process and perform tasks or say words as directed, step by step.
DOCUMENTATION
Accurate documentation of child's progressive milestones and communication notebook feedback on app
• General supervision and care for child
• Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Intentionally create a sensory-rich environment to enhance child's sensory development
• Supervise per child's ability; self- bathing, self-dressing and self-feeding, and helping with age appropriate meal prep and table setting
• Instruct child in personal hygiene and social development
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Organize structured learning activities such as oral direction, reading to child, functional play, skills acquisition, games and outings for children
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals for a child with sensory food aversions.
• Gradually encourage and introduce other foods as tolerated
• Prepare child for rest periods
•School runs, child to school and appointments
• Tend to emotional well-being of child
• Help child with homework and supervise play dates.
• Must own a reliable car with a valid drivers license, to be able do school runs, drive child to appointments and play dates.
