Position: Assistant Editor
Location: Toronto, ON (Remote)
Hours of Operation: 12:00pm - 9:00pm EST
*Pay Range: $27.00 - $29.00 CAD hourly
POSITION SUMMARY:
SDFX Studios is looking for an Assistant Editor to join the Toronto Editorial team. The candidate chosen will report directly to the Director, Technical Operations.
MAIN DUTIES:
As an Assistant Editor, you will work with the studio cutting room to build accurate 2D conforms for stereo timelines. You will ensure up to date stereo timelines with each turnover, run daily review sessions for Stereographers and Supervisors, and oversee (QC) and perform file exports. Additional duties include:
- Disseminate important information by generating guides for both internal use (company Wiki) and external use (Studio assistant editors)
- Perform other types of online work: opticals, restoration, native stereo photography fixes
- On occasions put together demonstration reels for internal and external purposes
WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will have entry level knowledge in a wide range of editing applications (Resolve, Premiere Pro, AVID). They must be experienced working in a Windows (PC) Production Environment, and be knowledgeable of Stereo-related Terminology (preferred but we'll teach you OUR lingo!). Additional desired skills include:
- Understanding of List Management (EDLs)
- Attention to detail
- Strong presentation skills
- Team player
- High speed internet required for employment
