Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Funding and Special Projects, the Data Analysis Coordinator will obtain, enter, collate and develop a summary report of the client utilization of programs and develop effective data collection tools in partnership with the City to better understand service users.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of academic and industry publications focusing on housing and related needs, including affordability, shelter trends and availability, homelessness rates, the intersection of housing instability and food insecurity, employment, and other relevant factors.
  • Summarize and synthesize research findings to inform ongoing and future projects to ensure alignment with current knowledge and best practices.
  • Identify and assist in preparing for housing-related requests for proposals, grants and other funding opportunities to support the department affordable housing initiatives.
  • Maintain historical and current data of all reports required internally and for funders.
  • Use existing data, develop and oversee comprehensive data analysis to prepare key reports, and support recommendations and queries.
  • Lead and support research conducted by Housing Services and collaborating organizations.
  • Respond to data requests and projects.
  • Assist with the maintenance of a database tool.
  • Receive occupancy numbers from each site on a daily basis and send reports to the City in a timely manner.
  • Receive reports from site supervisors and overnight staff to combine into daily staffing report and send to the City in a timely manner.
  • Collect and input statistics from Housing Preparation and Support Workers.
  • Collect and input data from site shift reports.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with funders and partner organizations & maintain appropriate documentation for statistics and files.
  • Provide information for funder reports as necessary.
  • Design and develop effective tools for data collection with a view to informing future program and service user needs.
  • Operate in an effective, efficient and client focused manner to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
  • Actively participate in department and agency meetings and events.
  • Work under the guidance of the Agency's program policies and procedures, including the Mission, Vision and Values of Dixon Hall and the agency's strategic direction.
  • Meet regularly with manager and the Housing Team to discuss individual, team and the overall effectiveness of client services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Relevant post-secondary degree or certificate or equivalent work experience in the social work and subsidized housing field.
  • Two years related experience in a community health or social service setting.
  • Working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act, Housing Services Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, and Landlord Tenant Board.
  • Knowledge of standardized research methodologies, statistical analysis/interpretation, preparing detailed analyses, design & development of ad hoc reports and working with performance indicators/scorecards.
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance, privacy practices and laws
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary social research and evaluation methods, including experience interpreting and reporting statistical, demographic and socio- economic data, and writing detailed reports and proposals.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software applications, as well as Internet research abilities.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Outstanding communicator both individually and in group settings.
  • Team player with highly developed interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues across teams.
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language.
  • Capacity to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability and willingness to embrace change and learn new skills.
  • Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
  • Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear' or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency. 
  • Must have up-to-date vaccinations against COVID-19 with a vaccine that has been approved for use in Canada.
