Job Description

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of an All-You-Care-to-Eat (AYCTE) residence dining program, ensuring a high standard of quality, safety, and service.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team in a unionized environment, maintaining positive labour relations and ensuring compliance with collective agreements and workplace policies.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships
  • Design and execute marketing initiatives and customer engagement strategies to promote dining services, drive participation, and enhance student satisfaction.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive "home away from home" environment for students through personalized service, thoughtful programming, and community-building initiatives.
  • Foster meaningful student interaction, engaging with students regularly to gather feedback, build rapport, and enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Manage and support allergy and nutrition programs, ensuring proper communication, training, and resources for students and staff
  • Work collaboratively with Residence Life and campus partners
  • Ensure ongoing client satisfaction and maintain a strong partnership with stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and program offerings to meet the evolving needs of the campus community.
  • Manage financial performance of the residence dining program, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals and operational efficiency.
Qualifications

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Business, or related field, with 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in food service operations.
  • Leadership experience in a university or college environment
  • Experience managing in a unionized environment, with strong knowledge of labour relations and collective agreements.
  • Proven success in budget management, including labour and food cost control, inventory oversight, and financial reporting.
  • Experience managing an All-You-Care-to-Eat residence dining program is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong customer service and client relationship skills, with a passion for creating a welcoming, student-focused dining experience.
  • Knowledge of nutrition and allergy management, including regulatory standards and best practices in communication and accommodation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with campus and residence life stakeholders.
