Job Summary: Design, program, operate, service and maintain PLC devices
Knowledge and Skills (Education):
- Post-Secondary Education- Electro-Mechanical Technician Diploma or equivalent
- Provincial Certification Red Seal 309A or 442A required
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Knowledge of technical controls and strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and problem solve
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Major Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot equipment consisting of weld controllers, robotics, and programmable logic controllers
Troubleshoot and repair equipment components - Design electrical and electronic circuits
- Program PLC's, AC/DC drives and Servo Drives
- Modify robot, PLC programs and machine screen interfaces
- Equipment maintenance
- Change welding consumables as needed
- Adjust MIG and spot-welding schedules on Medar, Lincoln, Miller, and Panasonic weld controllers
- All other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned as deemed necessary by Supervisor
