Position Overview:

Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the incumbentsupports the marketing team with marketing materials for print and digital (graphics, Social Media) booklets, email marketing, landing pages, etc.). They work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop marketing solutions that are well-designed, on time, and within budget.

We are looking for an engaging, self-motivated, team-player with a background in media management and advertising to join our Marketing team and help us scale our digital footprint. This role will be responsible for developing the strategy used in marketing Penny Appeal Canada's online presence, utilizing techniques such as social media, digital display advertising, web analytics, email marketing, and search engine optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Marketing Manager to create and disseminate marketing materials that promote Penny Appeal Canada's mission and vision.
  • Develop and support public awareness campaigns related to Penny Appeal Canadas programs.
  • Assist in the implementation of marketing strategy in alignment with Penny Appeal Canadas strategic plan.
  • Review analytics to assess campaign success and recommend improvements.
  • Create content for social media channels and manage regular posting schedules.(this includes static posts and reels)
  • Film, edit and post content of Influencers and events
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase social media followers and engagement.
  • Host and support special programs such as social media challenges, live sessions, and interactive campaigns.
  • Monitor and respond to comments and direct messages in a timely and engaging manner.
  • Assist in the development of communications materials, including, brochures, annual reports, and promotional mailers.
  • Create visual concepts and graphic designs for both digital and print platforms, ensuring consistency with brand style and voice.
  • Collaborate with the MarComms team, copywriters, and designers to produce targeted materials that drive ROI.
  • Support the Fundraising team in organizing and maintaining digital content calendars.
  • Design and implement layouts for digital communications, online events, digital ads, and marketing collateral.
  • Support brand awareness initiatives through creative design and communications efforts.
  • Design and manage online shop products, ensuring they align with marketing goals.
  • Partner with the Programs Team to communicate campaign impact and project stories to donors.
  • Provide administrative support to the Marketing Department, including proofreading, editing, bookkeeping, and helping establish standard operating procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Post-secondary education required
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Marketing
  • Expert knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (Creative Suite CC)
  • Digital Marketing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Expert understanding of print production processes and design requirements (CMYK, Bleed, Creep, Canada Post mailing requirements, spot colors)
  • Proficiency in GSuite, Microsoft Office, and Asana preferred
  • Expert skills at typography, color theory, and Knowledge of editorial design
  • Ability to design for print, web, and mobile with a deep understanding of the proper requirements (size, color, dimensions) of each platform.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to take charge of projects with little to no guidance.
  • Detail oriented and ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Creative mindset, ability to articulate projects in both written and visual format
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* (international students are not eligible)
