Job Title: Employment and Labour Litigation Legal Assistant
Location: Toronto, ON
Job Type: Permanent, Full TimeSalary: $60,000/year
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of initial drafts of security and ancillary leasing documents such as officer's certificates, non-disturbance agreements and notices of lease
- Review of PPSA and other corporate and personal property security searches
- Conduct and review title searches and sub searches of title to the property to be mortgaged
- Prepare electronic registration documentation for leasing matters
- Thorough knowledge of commercial lending documents
- Knowledge of procedures to obtain information using corporate databases and on-line programs
- Processing of files and documents received from lenders
- Experience with commercial transactions
- Preparing special reports including gathering and summarizing data
- Maintaining physical and electronic document system
- Managing multiple lawyers and their practices
- 2+ years of law clerk experience
- Extensive Teraview experience
- Completion of a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Diploma an asset
- Team-player attitude with strong communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multi-task and manage your time in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn
- Attention to detail
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Strong working knowledge of accounting and billing procedures
