Summary

The Director of Benefits will be responsible for helping implement and deliver benefits services across Flynn Restaurant Group, which includes 6 brands, in 44 states, with over 70,000 associates. This position will ensure the benefits team provides world class support to our restaurant operations and support center teams, while providing the same level of leadership to the Benefits team. The Director of Benefits will be responsible for identifying needs and opportunities and defining responses to these opportunities that follow FRG's decentralized organization structure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Senior Vice President of Human Resources in the creation, development and implementation of all benefits systems, services, and programs for the entire Flynn organization:
  • Oversee the development and day to day operations of all Employee Benefits Programs, budgets, cost containment procedures, and program improvement measures. Programs include:
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Life
  • 401k
  • Part-time limited health and vision benefits
  • HCE plan
  • 3rd party Indemnity plans
  • COBRA
  • HSA plans
  • Takes part in the negotiations and administration of contracts with health and other 3rd party benefits providers.
  • Drive a data-driven approach for benefit design, wellness policies and programs, and other related initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance of Health & Welfare and Retirement programs in accordance with regulatory and legislative requirements, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, and other local regulatory and legislative requirements. Coordinates preparation of filings with federal and state agencies, including IRS and DOL and other regulatory agencies.
  • Oversees annual renewals of benefits plans, claim reviews, financial reviews and open enrollments for all benefit plans.
  • Oversees acquisitions and integrations and plays a key role in the implementation of benefits to new associates.
  • Provides direction to the 5 Benefits Coordinators and Benefits administrator and supports them in managing their daily priorities which includes supporting operations with FMLA, STD, LOA's, unemployment and day to day benefit issues.
  • Works closely with the HRIS team on all system integrations between Flynn enterprise systems, benefits admin system and outside vendors.
  • Manages effective communications of benefit strategies and programs by partnering with HR leadership, Operations leadership, Support/Field staff and the Executive Team to deliver employee communications to impact participation and employee engagement.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Impressive benefits credentials that include a minimum of 10 years direct experience

Education and Experience

Education: Qualified professionals must have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources

Experience: 10+ years of HR/Benefits experience for a large company in their corporate offices
