Position Overview:
Penny Appeal Canada is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Sales Clerk (Business Donor Focus) to join our team as part of the Canada Summer Jobs program. This role will support the growth of our business donor network by identifying, engaging, and stewarding business partners across Canada. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in business development, nonprofit fundraising, and relationship management.
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential business donors aligned with Penny Appeal Canadas mission and programs.
- Initiate outreach to prospective partners across Canada and communicate the value of our business giving and sponsorship opportunities.
- Present tailored giving opportunities, partnership tiers, and impact stories to engage businesses.
- Conduct follow-ups and guide potential donors through the sponsorship or donation process.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely processing of contributions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor information in the CRM system, including communication history and preferences.
- Support internal teams to ensure a seamless and consistent donor experience across departments.
- Assist in preparing reports on donor engagement, pipeline updates, and revenue progress.
- Stay informed on active campaigns, initiatives, and national programs to confidently speak to business donors about giving opportunities.
- Foster long-term relationships with business donors by ensuring regular communication, recognition, and impact updates.
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding donor outreach and contribution goals set by the Orange Grove Network leadership.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program or recent graduate (within the last year).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a natural ability to engage others.
- Comfortable conducting outreach, presenting ideas, and following up with potential partners.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with good time management skills.
- Interest in sales, fundraising, nonprofit engagement, or business development is an asset.
- Experience using CRM systems or donor databases is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Passion for humanitarian work and making a positive social impact.
