Position Overview:
Penny Appeal Canada is seeking an excited, committed and engaged young professional to engage in conversation and dialogue with our donors and provide exceptional customer service skills and yield results.
Specific roles and responsibilities include an in-depth understanding of Penny Appeal's programs to address any questions donors may have, establish relationships and engage in conversation and dialogue with donors, and articulate the impact of a donor's gift in the community.
The Customer Services clerk will be working with our Donor Care Team and will also use their sales and customer service skills to play a vital role in supporting the vision and mission of eradicating poverty locally and internationally.
Responsibilities:
- Full knowledge and understanding of all our Programs in order to serve our Donors with any inquiries that come through phone, chat or email
- Punctual arrival and departure for daily assigned shifts with ongoing communication with Manager
- Ability to relay and articulate the impact of a donors gift and being well versed on FAQs, social media and internal communications
- Ability to make cold/warm calls to donors whilst following scripts
- Connecting and building relationships with our donors through clear and accurate communication
- Using Google Suite, Slack, Asana and Raisers Edge CRM with strong computer skills
- Responding to internal and external communications in a timely, professional and polite manner
- Using administrative skills to update CRM database and other Apps/modules
- Creating, assigning and responding to daily ASANA tasks from internal teams
- Navigating software,updating notes and databases and processing donor gifts
- Fundraising and making an ask for donations based on campaign goals and KPIs
- Following SOPs and procedures provided
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education required
- Minimum 1-2 years of Customer Service or Administrative experience
- Previous Sales or Fundraising experience
- Strong English communication skills (reading,writing and speaking)
- Bilingual proficiency is an asset
- Digital Platform experience: G Suite, Asana, CRM, VOIP Dialers, and Live Chat is an asset
- Previous non-profit experience is preferred but not required (ex. Volunteer work)
- Organized and efficient with strong attention to detail
- Managing multiple tasks and with stong time management skills
- Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision
- Previous Remote Working experience is an asset
- Updated Computer with camera and headset for taking calls and meetings is required
- Have a dedicated, quiet, and private home office space (with a door)
- Have a secure high-speed internet connection (satellite is not compatible)
- Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* (international students are not eligible)
