The General Service Supervisor plays a key role within the Event Delivery team. This vital position involves overseeing staff to ensure the seamless execution and set up of a diverse range of events throughout the year. The events encompass internal gatherings, special occasions, trade shows, consumer expos, sports events, concerts, and more.
Under the direction of the Assistant Manager, Event Delivery, the General Service Supervisor is responsible for the following:
General and Supervisory Duties
  • Oversee staff in the efficient setup, execution, and teardown of diverse events, including banquets, tradeshows, agricultural and equine shows.
  • Provide on-site supervision, coaching, and mentorship to ensure safety, productivity, and adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Lead and train new and existing EDVO staff, fostering teamwork, growth, and high performance through instruction and feedback.
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and tractors to support logistics, ground preparation, harrowing, and cleanup.
  • Supervise and support groundskeeping, landscaping, janitorial, and light maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Coordinate closely with other General Service Supervisors, and EDVO/Grounds Management to ensure seamless operations.
  • Perform basic maintenance on equipment and tools and report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, quality, and professionalism in all aspects of operations.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation in coordination with the Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • Open the park during morning shifts as required.
Event Production Duties
  • Execute event setups according to Banquet Event Orders and specific client requirements throughout the year.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors, Managers, Clients, and Event Services teams to fulfill client requests and uphold service standards.
  • Maintain a visible presence during events, offering clear lines of communication for clients.
  • Ensure event spaces are clean, organized, and properly set, including areas used for agricultural or equine activities.
  • Oversee the takedown and cleanup of venues following events.
  • Coordinate logistics and responsibilities with staff, volunteers, and external suppliers.
  • Manage facility opening and closing procedures as per operational requirements.

Here is what you bring:
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings, with start times ranging from 6:00am. to as late as 2:30am.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a minimum of 3 years of driving history.
  • Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • 1–2 years of experience in a supervisory role (required).
  • 1–2 years of experience in event setup (preferred).
  • 1–2 years of experience in a labor-intensive role (required).
  • 1–2 years of experience operating equipment such as skid steers, forklifts, and/or tractors (required).
  • Proficient in basic computer use, including accessing email and documents.
