As a BBB business development specialist, you will:

  • Expand BBB's market share: Make approximately 125 calls daily to business owners and CEOs, discussing the benefits of BBB accreditation and building long-term relationships.
  • Achieve sales goals: Submit a minimum of 15 new accreditation applications each month and consistently meet or exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly production targets.
  • Utilize lead generation tools: Effectively use BBB's database to generate leads and consistently document all interactions in the CRM system.
  • Communicate the value of accreditation: Clearly explain the benefits of BBB accreditation by mastering the BBB-approved sales script and adapting it to each business owner's needs.
  • Manage the application process: Complete all BBB accreditation applications using the online platform and ensure accuracy at each stage of the process, collaborating with internal teams when needed.
  • Understand BBB's mission: Develop a comprehensive understanding of BBB's mission, vision, and the eight accreditation standards, and effectively communicate these to potential members.
  • Uphold sales ethics: Adhere to the BBB Sales Ethics Pledge to ensure integrity and trust in all interactions.
  • Engage in continuous learning: Participate in regular sales meetings, embrace coaching, and take advantage of training opportunities as requested by management.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment: Work in a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative team setting.
  • Work standard hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with some flexibility to meet business needs.
  • Support business operations: On occasion, assist the regional director with events and with other duties as assigned by the director of business development.

What you bring:

  • Education: High school diploma required.
  • Experience:
    • Proven track record in B2B sales, customer service, and relationship building.
    • Experience meeting and exceeding sales quotas.
  • Skills:
    • Strong verbal communication skills, including a clear and professional telephone presence.
    • Confident closing skills with the ability to discuss payment terms.
    • Excellent written communication skills for responding to email inquiries professionally.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with business owners.
    • Effective phone presentation and listening skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and judgment skills.
    • Ability to work well in a team and contribute to a positive team environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM systems.
    • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
