Program Coordinator II
JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Coordinator II shall have the personality, ability, and temperament necessary to interact with the supported persons in a manner that will respect and maintain the persons' spirit, dignity and individuality.
In collaboration with the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator II will assist the manager with the supervision of employees, administrative duties, scheduling and the development of plans. This includes the implementation and evaluation of programs that are designed to support a person's health and well-being within staffed homes, centers and home-based day programs.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

  1. Formulates program policies and procedures and evaluates the program in consultation with the program manager, monitors program expenditures and provides input in to the budget
  2. Plans, develops, implements and evaluates ISP goals to ensure they meet the supported person's physical, social, emotional intellectual and spiritual needs and interests.
  3. In collaboration with the Program Manager, assist in program training, staff development and provide support and guidance to employees
  4. Supervises program staff by performing duties such as assigning work, facilitating team meetings, providing feedback on performance and conducting performance evaluations.
  5. Plans and implement program activities and special events.
  6. Participates in recruitment and selection of program staff by involvement in duties such as screening, interviews and hiring recommendations.
  7. Has an excellent understanding of behaviour management principles and strategies including mental health support needs.
  8. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the program by ensuring the necessary facilities and equipment are in place, program guidelines and policies adhered to and agency standards and licensing requirements are met.
  9. Contribute to the overall emergency preparedness of the program including the development of emergency evacuation plans and management of emergency supply inventory. Ensures OH&S drills and inspections are documented appropriately.
  10. Promotes positive relationship with family members, co-workers, other professional and members of the community
  11. Maintains related records and statistics and produce reports as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  1. Post-Secondary Diploma in related to Human/ Social Services field
  2. Certificate /Diploma in Management Training
  3. Minimum 3 years experience including 1 year supervisory or administrative experience and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  4. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  5. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows. Must include word processing and competency with Outlook email application and knowledge in Share Vision
  6. Evidence of practice of confidentiality
  7. Current Emergency First-Aid and CPR Level C Certification
  8. TB Test
  9. Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence, Valid Restricted Class 4 Driver;s Licence preferred
  10. Food Safe Certificate
  11. Any qualification or skill required by a Licensing officer or funding body
