As an Instrumentation & Control Engineer on Enwaves Operational Excellence team, youll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, integration, and advancement of our distributed energy systems. Youll work hands-on with a wide variety of instrumentation and control systemscommissioning new infrastructure, troubleshooting field devices, and optimizing live system performance across our plants and networks. Just as importantly, you'll operate as a bridge between technical operations and business outcomesworking shoulder-to-shoulder with plant operators, engineers, vendors, IT/OT teams, and customer stakeholders to diagnose issues, guide decision-making, and influence continuous improvement.
This role is as much about clear communication, systems thinking, and collaborative problem-solving as it is about technical skill. Youll need the confidence to speak with vendors like Siemens or Johnson Controls, the precision to analyze metering data before month-end, and the poise to guide integration plans with our Development, Innovation, and IT teams. What You'll Tackle
- Commissioning & Project Integration: Evaluate instrumentation designs and oversee commissioning of new control systems.
- Field Instrumentation & Troubleshooting: Lead calibration, integration, and onsite issue resolution for remote sensors, energy meters, and communication networks.
- Control System Monitoring: Manage and improve real-time SCADA systems (iFix, DCS, PLCs), and help transition legacy controls into a next-gen digital platform.
- Operational Analytics & Reporting: Leverage control system data to develop and maintain KPI dashboards, performance insights, and technical recommendations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Influence outcomes through strong partnerships with Engineering, Operations, Development, IT/OT, vendors, and external stakeholders.
What You Bring
- 46 years of experience in controls or instrumentation engineering, ideally within HVAC, utilities, or energy systems.
- Degree in Controls, Electrical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering, or advanced Technician certification with hands-on PLC/HVAC controls expertise.
- Deep knowledge of SCADA/DCS systems (e.g., iFix, DeltaV, ALC, Siemens), industrial protocols (BACnet, Modbus, Profinet), and system integration.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability, with a knack for turning complexity into clear, actionable insights.
- A clear communicator and relationship-builder who listens actively, speaks with purpose, and adapts messaging to your audience from plant operators to executives.
