Temporary (8 weeks), Full time (35 hours per week), On Site

The City of Medicine Hat is looking for a Storekeeper 1 for a temporary, position funded through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program. Your key responsibilities
- Receive and issue stock using a computerized inventory control system.
- Inspect, shelve, and distribute stock throughout the organization.
- Prepare supplies as needed.
- Conduct cycle counts and periodic inventory checks to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain the office, warehouse, and yard in a clean and organized manner.
- Operate various tools and equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and office equipment.
What you bring
- A basic understanding of inventory systems and warehouse procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully.
- A commitment to safety and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Willingness and physical capability to perform manual labour in a variety of weather and warehouse conditions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn inventory and ERP systems.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- One (1) year of work experience, preferably in a Stores or warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations is an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
This is a temporary position funded through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program. To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
