We are looking for an experienced, hands-on housekeeping supervisor to join our housekeeping team. We are a 164 guest room property with conference center and restaurant in Canmore, Alberta. We provide full training but our ideal candidate must have previous experience as a room attendant and as a housekeeping supervisor. A Housekeeping Supervisor must have a positive and professional upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service & cleanliness to our guests and exceed guest expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing leadership, training and support to department ambassadors, with respect to all housekeeping duties and processes.
To distribute room assignments, evenly & fairly to Room Attendants daily
To identify, implement and maintain systems, procedures and standards that lead to the continuing improvement of service levels & cleanliness. Including following up with employees to ensure systems/standards are being met & maintained.
To take on authority figure in department when Housekeeping Manager or Rooms Division Manager are absent.
To investigate & take immediate action on complaints or failures in the housekeeping operations.
Actively participates, coaches and leads ambassadors in improving cleanliness of guest rooms & public areas.
Ensure that all Rooms Attendants & Houseman complete their essential duties before departure.
Assist with all sick calls or unpunctuality by finding proper coverage and stay until coverage can be found.
Observes staff performances and encourages improvement.
Must be proactive and have initiative, while ensuring Hotel cleanliness is excellent, and fix flaws/deficiencies when visible.
Actively check for deficiencies in room and report through appropriate channels for repair.
Actively participate and oversea hotel recycling program, ensuring Room Attendants / Houseman are separating of recyclables to appropriate bins.
Manage lost & found program, receiving, logging item, ensuring guest follow up and mailing of item to guest.
Ensuring general cleanliness/organization of all housekeeping areas, including office, closets, garbage area.
Education & Qualifications:
Mandatory Housekeeping & Supervisory experience
Exceptional interpersonal skills to enhance the service standards throughout the operation
Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
Organized with time management skills
A team player, flexible and self-starter who can work independently when required
Resourceful and creative with the ability to work well under pressure and in changing situations.
Salary:
- $20.50 per hour (starting wage) + Summer bonus
- Regular pay raise (after 6 months and 1 year based on performance)
