GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who is passionate about mechanical architectural design and taking projects from concept to delivery.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will perform mechanical design efforts focused on our sonar array product. You will be a key contributor for all stages of development, from conceptual design, detailed design, build, testing, and verification. You will work as part of a team, assisting designers and junior engineers, and interfacing with project managers and other company stakeholders, ensuring the job gets done. You will bring your experience to bear, ensuring that development work is executed successfully on systems for use above and below water.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop GTI marine and sonar products, systems and processes.This involves creating detailed plans and specifications to meet project requirements
  • Participate in formal engineering design reviews.
  • Identify and analyze technical challenges and develop innovative solutions to overcome them.
  • Conduct tests and simulations to ensure that the design meets performance, safety, and quality standards.
  • Manage tasks to meet project scope, timelines and budgets.
  • Anticipate, identify, mitigate, and manage technical risks, roadblocks and report to technical leads and management.
  • Work in multi-disciplinary teams, collaborating with others to achieve project goals.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of designs, tests, and modifications.
  • Maintain, compile, and present verification evidence for customer acceptance events.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent job experience.
  • Hold a Professional Engineering designation in good standing, preferred.
  • Experience with CAD software and other engineering tools.
  • Proficient in creating, reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols and regulations.

Security Requirements
