Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Production Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and be committed to delivering high-quality meals efficiently and consistently. As a Production Chef, you will play a key role in preparing and producing food for Dana Shortt Gourmet, ensuring that all dishes meet the highest standards in taste, presentation, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients, sauces, and dishes in large quantities, adhering to set recipes and production schedules.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the consistency and quality of all meals produced, maintaining high standards of food presentation and taste.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, to ensure smooth operation and timely production.
  • Stock Management: Oversee and manage kitchen inventory, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh, stored properly, and used efficiently.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all food safety guidelines, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure a safe working environment and high-quality food.
  • Time Management: Effectively manage time to meet production schedules and deadlines while maintaining the highest food standards.
  • Cost Control: Assist in controlling food costs and minimizing waste, helping to maintain the kitchen's profitability.
  • Training & Development: Assist in training junior kitchen staff on food preparation, techniques, and kitchen safety procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Production Chef, Line Chef, or in a similar high-volume kitchen role.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to recipes and guidelines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.20 - $24.10 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 37.5 per week

Additional pay:
