Casual, On-Site

Are you passionate about fitness, community health, and helping others achieve their goals? We're hiring Fitness Leaders to support patrons at the Big Marble Go Centre through fitness education, personalized training, and safe use of our gym facilities. As a unionized member of our Parks & Recreation team, you'll provide hands-on support to individuals and groups, ensuring everyone has a safe, effective, and enjoyable fitness experience. While classified as casual, these positions typically offer part-time hours on a regular basis, with scheduling based on operational needs and availability.

Your key responsibilities

  • Deliver personal training sessions and lead group fitness instruction with energy and professionalism.
  • Educate patrons on the safe and proper use of all fitness equipment and amenities.
  • Create a friendly, inclusive, and health-focused atmosphere on the fitness floor.
  • Support patrons by answering questions, demonstrating exercises, and offering modifications.
  • Contribute to facility cleanliness and equipment maintenance by assisting with regular cleaning and setup.
  • Promote programming and special events throughout the facility.
  • Quickly and calmly respond to any concerns or emergencies, ensuring patron safety.

  • Calm, solution-oriented approach to challenging situations.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 or high school equivalency diploma.
  • Current Personal Trainer certification (Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology - CSEP).
  • Current CPR and Emergency First Aid certifications.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in fitness or wellness programming.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
