Position: Contract Summer Student: Administrative Assistant

Contract: June 2, 2025 - July 28, 2025

Hours: 35 hours per week

Rate of pay: $17.20 per hour

Location: Petrolia, Ontario


What we are hiring for:

We are currently hiring a Contract Summer Student Administrative Assistant at our Administration Office in Petrolia, Ontario.

The successful candidate will work within the Human Resources and Accounting departments on a variety of initiatives, such as assisting with data entry projects. They will also be assisting with administrative tasks such as filing and maintaining personnel records, employee mailouts and other duties as assigned.

We are looking an enthusiastic, hardworking and professional candidate. Enrollment in a Human Resources, Accounting or other administration-related program considered an asset. Applicant must have strong computer skills - especially with Microsoft 365, be detail-oriented and organized, and be comfortable speaking and working with others across multiple departments.


Qualifications based on the funding requirements:

To be eligible for this position, youth must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

**International students are not eligible participants. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student's time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.

International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.


Compensation and scheduling:

  • $17.20 per hour
  • 35 hours per week
  • 8-week contract
