A leading commercial HVAC and mechanical contracting company based in Etobicoke is seeking a Project Manager to oversee mechanical scopes for construction, retrofit, and design-build projects. With over 30 years of trusted service in the industry, this company is known for safety, performance, and long-term client partnerships. Position Summary:
The Project Manager will lead the delivery of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems on a variety of projects in the ICI sector. This includes overseeing budgets, schedules, site coordination, and contract administration—specifically under CCDC contract formats (CCDC 2, 5A/5B). This is a key role for someone with strong mechanical project experience and the ability to take ownership from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
Project planning and coordination
Manage end-to-end delivery of HVAC and mechanical scopes across multiple projects
Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
Review drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
Contract and document management
Oversee contracts including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress claims
Ensure compliance with CCDC contract terms and maintain organized project records
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to manage changes and expectations
Vendor and subcontractor coordination
Coordinate mechanical sub-trades and material suppliers
Resolve scheduling conflicts, site delays, and scope changes
Attend and lead site meetings
Quality assurance and safety
Maintain high-quality installation standards and compliance with mechanical codes
Ensure safety standards and documentation are followed
Client and consultant relations
Act as the main point of contact for project stakeholders
Provide timely updates and ensure project expectations are met
Post-secondary diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field
5+ years of experience managing mechanical construction projects in the ICI sector
Familiarity with CCDC contract formats and construction documentation
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems
Experience using software such as Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or Procore
PMP certification or similar designation is an asset
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
