As a Training Coordinator at our Edmonton facility, you will be at the heart of building a capable, safe, and high-performing workforce. You'll leverage your training and development expertise within our dynamic manufacturing team, working collaboratively with personnel across all departments. Your mission will be to facilitate effective training needs identification, conduct thorough competency assessments, and foster valuable developmental opportunities.
This is an entry-level role with an opportunity to shape the design and delivery of site training programs that uplift operational readiness, address skill gaps, and empower our teams to succeed. Working closely with production, maintenance, and quality leaders, you will drive continuous development, embed safe work practices, and ensure every team member is equipped to perform at their best.
In this role, you will:
- Assess, Develop, and Implement Training: Collaborate with leaders to identify skill gaps, create training solutions (including content and plans), and implement Edmonton's training and competency frameworks aligned with global standards.
- Manage Learning Systems and Compliance: Administer and optimize the LMS to ensure accurate training records, compliance, and reporting. Conduct training audits to measure effectiveness and identify improvements.
- Communicate and Engage Stakeholders: Effectively communicate training schedules and progress to diverse teams, tailoring the approach for maximum engagement.
- Promote Safety and Onboarding: Champion safe work practices through training and deliver comprehensive site inductions for new employees.
- Collaborate and Improve Training Practices: Connect with other training coordinators to share ideas and continuously review and enhance training programs based on feedback and effectiveness.
- Align Training with Job Requirements: Work with hiring managers to ensure training content and competence levels meet the skill requirements of roles.
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant Educational Background: Background in Human Resources, Business, Management, Organizational Development, or any field with people training approach.
- Training Coordination & Needs Management: +3 years of experience in coordinating training programs or personnel activities, with a focus on identifying and addressing learning and development needs within an organization.
- Adaptability & Learning Agility: Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Office Proficiency: Hands-on experience with data management and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Training Fundamentals: Practical or Academic knowledge of training needs analysis, blended learning methods, and competency frameworks in a company or a project.
- Prior Training Experience: Previous experience in a training role within manufacturing/plant or industrial environment.
- Proactive & Ownership Mindset: A proactive, "go-getter" attitude with an understanding of business and organizational needs, and the ability to take ownership.
- Quality Management Systems (QMS) Knowledge: Ideal skills in Quality Management Systems.
