Inclusion Lethbridge seeks an Events and Marketing Assistant for a Canada Summer Jobs funded position. The applicant must:
Be a youth be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period, and
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment** and
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
Reporting to the Executive Director, the events and marketing assistant will work from the Inclusion Resource Centre for a 9 week term, from May 13 - July 15, 2025, or earlier if a suitable candidate is found. The position is based on an average 30-hour work week. The wage is 20$/hour. The Events and Marketing Assistant will support the organization through coordinating and promotion of events and opportunities for raising awareness with individuals and families with developmental disabilities in Southern Alberta.
Position Tasks
Meet with organizing committees to help plan the scope and format of events
Work with ILA to establish and monitor event budgets and to review administrative procedures and progress of events
Coordinate services for events, such as transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, translation, special needs requirements, audio-visual equipment, printing and security
Develop and organize workshops, meetings, ceremonies and other events and programs for publicity, fundraising and information purposes
Organize registration of participants, prepare programs and promotional material, and publicize events.
Develop and implement strategies and relevant content for direct and digital marketing and advertising campaigns
Assist with social media promotion for event engagement
Assist in the preparation of brochures, newsletters and other promotional material
Plan entertainment and social gatherings for participants
Coordinate, train and supervise volunteers required for events

Familiarity with CANVA; Adobe; PowerPoint; Google Workspace & social media platforms. Website maintenance is an asset. This position requires flexibility to provide occasional event support on weekends and evenings, specifically including May 17 and July 1, 2025. The ideal applicant will have access to a properly insured vehicle, which will be used for events and program delivery within and possibly outside of Lethbridge. Compensation for mileage will be provided. This position requires that the applicant is able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, and ideally be able to transport/carry up to 40 lbs.
