We are looking for a detail-driven Corporate Controller to manage and enhance our client's financial operations, vendor partnerships, and internal accounting practices. We are looking for a detail-driven Corporate Controller to manage and enhance our client's financial operations, vendor partnerships, and internal accounting practices. 1. Financial Management, Analysis, and Reporting
- Oversee daily accounting operations: AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning initiatives.
- Provide actionable insights and reporting on KPIs, variances, and profitability to support senior leadership.
- Liaise with external accountants for audits, tax filings, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Work with vendors to negotiate favorable pricing and payment terms.
- Monitor vendor performance and recommend process improvements and cost-saving initiatives that support inventory cost control and accuracy.
- Develop and enforce inventory control procedures and conduct audits to maintain accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
- Supervise a small accounting team including AP/AR personnel, providing coaching, support, and performance feedback.
- Set performance objectives, conduct regular reviews, and foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Support operational decision-making with financial insight.
- Foster an environment focused on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- CPA or other accounting designation is a strong asset.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with exposure to wholesale, distribution, or grocery/retail environments.
- Proficiency in Simply Accounting, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; familiarity with LOC software is an asset.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and team leadership abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Salary Range:
$75,000 – C$90,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
