The Opportunity:
As Director of Purchasing & Procurement, you'll be taking on a newly created leadership role, reporting directly to the VP of Finance. This position will oversee procurement strategy and team management across two locations. You'll be responsible for building and streamlining purchasing operations, fostering vendor relationships, and identifying opportunities for savings and operational improvement.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead & Develop Teams: Manage a team of procurement professionals in two locations. Guide and support the team in achieving strategic and operational goals.
  • Drive Procurement Strategy: Establish and implement best-in-class procurement processes, ensuring efficient sourcing, budgeting, and vendor management practices.
  • Optimize Vendor Relationships: Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and contract terms that align with business goals.
  • Manage Significant Procurement Volume: Oversee purchasing for large-scale projects and ensure effective planning, especially during peak operational seasons.
  • Contribute Industry Insight: Use your deep understanding of construction-related materials and services to influence purchasing decisions and support ongoing cost-efficiency efforts.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience: 5–7+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally within construction or industrial sectors. 5+ years in a leadership or team management role is essential.
  • Team Leadership: A collaborative, empowering leader who can manage across locations and build strong, results-driven teams.
  • Strategic Negotiator: Skilled at driving value through supplier negotiations, contract execution, and vendor relationship management.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with construction-related procurement is a strong asset—understanding the materials, timelines, and supplier dynamics is key to success.
Why Join This Company?
  • Empowered Leadership: You'll report to a VP who leads with trust and transparency - a supportive and accessible leader.
  • Culture that Cares: A family-oriented and long-standing team culture where birthdays are celebrated, milestones are recognized, and collaboration is encouraged.
  • A Seat at the Table: This role gives you an opportunity to contribute at a high level, influence purchasing direction, and be a key player in the company's next phase of growth.
