THE ROLE

STRIVE Recruitment is working with a versatile legal firm who focuses in areas such as business, insurance, and personal litigation. Our client is a Canadian based firm and they are looking for a Real Estate Paralegal for their location in Vancouver.

Being a part of the team as a Paralegal,, you will be supporting a total of 2 individuals. We are looking for someone who is able to work well by themselves and able to support and help the team when necessary. Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and act upon instructions received from the lender, ensuring compliance with legal and procedural requirements.
  • Liaise with borrowers and lenders to obtain necessary authorizations and gather required documentation for due diligence.
  • Conduct and analyze due diligence searches, including Land Title Office, Corporate Registry, and Personal Property Registry (PPR).
  • Draft and review security and loan documentation with precision and adherence to legal standards.
  • Prepare and issue Preliminary Reports on Title to clients.
  • Coordinate with the borrowers solicitor to send and receive executed loan and security documentation.
  • Organize and arrange for the timely disbursement of funds in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper registration of security documents with relevant authorities and registries.
  • Draft final reporting letters and conduct post-registration searches to confirm completion.
  • Compile final reporting packages and binders for delivery to the client.
  • Maintain organized and comprehensive file management systems, including physical and digital documentation.
  • Provide paralegal support to commercial and residential conveyancers as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Paralegal program.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a paralegal role, specifically in Lending and Real Estate law.
  • Strong knowledge of the Land Title Act and the Personal Property Security Act, including experience with related filings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, with the ability to adapt to legal software and platforms.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
