Human Resources Manager – Property Management OperationsLocation: Edmonton, AB
Reports to: Chief Human Resources Officer
Job Summary: As the HR Manager – Property Management Operations, you will oversee end-to-end HR functions for our property management teams across multiple provinces. Reporting directly to the CHRO, you'll lead and supervise day-to-day HR operations, including full-cycle recruitment, policy compliance, and employee relations. You'll serve as the primary HR strategic partner for property management leaders and staff, guiding them through performance management, conflict resolution, investigations, and effectively managing HR initiatives that support employee retention.
Key Responsibilities:
• Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for property management operations
- Champion a best-in-class onboarding experience, ensuring new hires are engaged, informed, and connected to our business vision.
• HR Operations
- Plan, monitor, and appraise HR activities (HR trends analysis & reporting, grievance resolution, coaching).
- Provide expert guidance on HR policies, procedures, and legislative compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and Human Rights to minimize legal risks.
• Employee Relations & Investigations
- Consult with people managers on performance issues and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct thorough, objective investigations of employee concerns, ensuring timely follow-through.
• Performance Management & Engagement
- Facilitate training for managers on goal setting, performance reviews, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
- Support and occasionally lead employee engagement initiatives and events.
- Collaborate with management to assess training needs.
• HR Reporting & Analytics
- Produce regular dashboards and reports on the workforce profile.
• Other Duties
- Take on special projects and tasks as assigned by the CHRO, maintaining strict confidentiality throughout.
- Build and maintain relationships with community employment agencies.
Job Requirements:
• Education: Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or equivalent.
• Experience:
- Minimum 10 years in an extensive HR generalist role, with at least 4 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Proven track record in full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, and performance management in a fast-paced work environment.
• Expertise:
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in HR reporting and familiarity with ADP Workforce, Dayforce, and JazzHR.
• Skills & Attributes:
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize under clear objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, drive change, and inspire teams.
• Certification: CPHR, CHRP, or equivalent preferred.
• Assets: Background in residential or commercial property management, and culture-building initiatives.
