Production Worker (Direct Support Technician):
The Direct Support Technician works in a Clean Room environment and is responsible for production duties of solution and component preparation. the Technician works in accordance with good manufacturing practice and established standard operating procedures. They will work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment. This role requires on-site availability to work at our Burnaby facility in British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare various solutions and product components as per procedure.
- Operate and maintain calibration of production equipment.
- Prepare bioprosthetic valves for downstream processing operations according to prescribed procedures.
- Clean and sanitize the machines as needed.
- Monitor and maintain solution change requirements for heart valves.
- Perform final packaging and re-packaging of heart valves.
- Maintain traceability and proper documentation on all materials and components processed through the area.
- Perform cleaning of controlled environment and gowning area in accordance with prescribed procedures.
- Handle chemicals in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures.
- Communicates work related issues in person and/or using email.
- Responsible for ensuring work instructions, work schedules, and work information are clearly understood.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to do repetitive, detailed work within guidelines and maintain precise records.
- Proficient and fluent in spoken and written English; able to follow instructions.
- Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer skills and able to learn new software programs (i.e. Microsoft Office, MES, etc.).
- Open-minded and accepts constructive feedback.
- Ability to work well with co-workers in a team environment.
- Able to work responsibly with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience:
- Highschool Diploma
- Education and/or experience in related industry, preferable.
Working Conditions:
- Fixed weekday shifts, occasional weekend and OT. Shift times vary occasionally based on business needs.
- Kneeling, bending, standing and/or walking for extended periods.
- Work in a controlled environment requiring special garments and safety equipment (ex. gloves, masks, etc.).
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Handling and usage of chemicals.
- Valid drivers' license and vehicle, preferable.

Compensation:
- Training Wage: $19/hour. Upon completion of training, wage will increase to $20 per hour.
