Job description:Matrix HR is seeking skilled Journeyperson Carpenters/Joiners. We're particularly interested in candidates who live in Halifax or nearby areas within a reasonable commute.

Referral Bonus Offered! We are pleased to offer a referral bonus of $200 for each individual referred to MatrixHR who is successfully hired for this project. To be eligible for the referral payment, the referred candidate must complete a minimum of one week of work on our payroll.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of related Industrial carpentry experience.
  • Self-starter with the ability to complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Work well independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to do shift work as required.
Key Requirements:
  • You must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Candidates will be required to work at heights from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms; stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and climb and work in confined spaces and inclement weather and support extended hours and overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Work may be performed indoors and outdoors.
  • You will frequently handle, lift, carry, and set up parts and equipment that weigh up to fifty (50lbs) pounds.
  • Own tools and tool pouch
Key Responsibilities:
  • Erect, dismantle, inspect, and certify various installations.
  • Perform care and preservation work.
  • Experience with Industrial and Commercial Carpentry scopes is a requirement.
  • Provide a safe work environment, maintaining “Safety First” for your team.
  • Work according to blueprints.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, steel, and other materials.
  • Install windows, doors, feature walls/ceiling, etc.
Experience:
  • Exceptional construction and building code knowledge.
  • Commercial metal frame and door construction.
  • Precision hardware installation.
  • Experience working with power tools/ Knowledge of tools and applications.
  • Not afraid of heights.
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Capable of identifying concerns and generating solutions.
