Franvest Capital Partners is an Edmonton based private equity firm that invests in privately held companies with a focus on franchising and real estate development. In the past we have worked with companies requiring financial restructuring, strategic redirection or operational improvement.
Franvests investments include Orangetheory Fitness, Anytime Fitness, Waxing the City, The Bar Method and The Dog Stop, plus real estate investments in Alberta and the US. Applicants with an interest in private equity, franchising and/or mergers and acquisitions will be preferred.
About the Role:
We are currently seeking an Analyst who will be responsible for financial analysis support for transaction due diligence and ongoing portfolio management. Financial analysis responsibilities will include in-depth financial models that are supported by data and accounting principles. This person will also be involved in developing investment theses and assisting in driving an investment process.
The Analyst will work closely will senior members of the Firm and have extensive interaction with management teams and external advisors. You are self-motivated, have a strong sense of personal ownership, can influence and develop recommendations, has a continuous improvement mindset, and has an ability to thrive in (and make strong contributions to) a team-based environment.
This position is a unique opportunity to gain experience working with small to medium sized businesses in a very entrepreneurial environment. The position will involve the research for new strategic business programs, business due diligence and hands on operational experience across a number of the portfolio companies. Projects may include developing and implementing strategies in the areas of finance, technology, sales, marketing, business management, reporting and logistics.
Your Responsibilities
Assess private equity investment opportunities through thorough research, financial analysis, creating presentation materials, and providing investment recommendations.
Provide FP&A support to portfolio company management as well as internal stakeholders.
Develop financial and valuation models, perform due diligence, and support deal execution.
Collaborate with portfolio company leadership to drive strategy, manage acquisitions, monitor financial and operational performance, and assist with company operations.
Your Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or management consulting with a strong academic record.
1-3 years of relevant experience in fields such as audit, private equity, investment banking, equity research, restructuring, consulting, or transaction advisory/due diligence.
Proven financial analysis skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to thrive under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects effectively.
Exceptional communication skills with a talent for presenting clear, well-structured ideas.
Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with a collaborative team spirit.
