Temporary Dispatcher – Ground Transportation Event (June 2025)

This June, the scenic region of Kananaskis will host a high-profile international event requiring top-tier transportation and operational coordination. Diversified Transportation is proud to play a critical role in this operation, and we are inviting experienced Dispatchers to join our team for a major ground transportation project supporting this important event.

We are currently seeking professional Dispatchers for a temporary assignment expected to last 3 to 4 weeks. Dispatchers will be responsible for coordinating operator assignments, vehicle movements, and real-time support for the Calgary/Kananaskis region.

Operations will run 24 hours a day, with Dispatchers working 12-hour shifts: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (Day Shift) or 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM (Night Shift).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the daily dispatching of operators and fleet vehicles for scheduled transportation routes
  • Monitor and respond immediately to operational or service delivery issues
  • Maintain communication with operators, supervisors, and clients via radio, phone, and computer systems
  • Ensure service requirements and safety policies are adhered to at all times
  • Expedite and resolve passenger or client inquiries professionally and effectively
  • Process and manage operational reports and communication logs accurately
  • Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager or their designate

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in dispatch, transportation, or logistics coordination
  • Strong customer service skills with a proven ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and dispatching software systems
  • Strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and quick decision-making in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently during high-pressure situations
  • Previous experience working in large-scale event operations is considered an asset
  • Must be able to obtain clearance for the following tasks:
    • Pre-Employment Physical Demands Analysis (PDA)
    • Drug & Alcohol Test (D&A)
    • Extensive Criminal Background Check
  • Knowledge of Calgary and Kananaskis area considered an asset
