Senior Electrical Engineer – Power & Nuclear Industry
We are seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to provide high-quality technical expertise to clients in the Nuclear and Power Industry. This role offers opportunities for leadership and project management while ensuring adherence to rigorous industry standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Support (50-75%)
Develop and review electrical designs, specifications, and calculations.
Create design drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Conduct equipment compliance testing and oversee factory acceptance tests.
Prepare reports, test plans, and engineering documentation.
Project Management (15-25%)
Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
Lead projects to meet quality and timeline goals.
Manage project billing cycles and reporting.
Field Support & Administration (10-20%)
Provide full-cycle engineering assistance during installation, commissioning, and close-out phases.
Liaise with stakeholders to address project requirements and updates.
About You
Strong work ethic, adaptability, and accountability.
Passion for staying current with electrical safety codes and innovative engineering practices.
Proven ability to lead and manage projects effectively.
Qualifications
Degree: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (required).
Licensing: P.Eng designation in Ontario (mandatory).
Experience: 5-10 years in electrical design, preferably in the nuclear industry or with OPG.
Assets: PMP designation, OPG DE/DTL qualification, experience with Asset Suite 9.
Technical Expertise
Proficiency in medium/low-voltage power distribution systems, substations, and sustainable energy solutions (e.g., hydroelectric, solar).
Knowledge of nuclear engineering processes, including ECC and risk-based modification procedures.
Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Codes, IEEE standards, and OPG governance.
