ROLE:

As a Senior Product Designer, youll partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and the UI/UX Lead Developer to transform user stories into intuitive, scalable designs. Youll flesh out functional UI and UX requirements, workshop solutions, and produce everything from early wireframes and flow diagrams to high-fidelity, interactive prototypes. Once designs are approved, youll hand off detailed specs to engineering and support implementation throughout sprint cycles. Youll also help evolve our existing SaaS productsmaintaining a cohesive design system and ensuring that all experiences meet user needs and accessibility standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the product manager, product owner, analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to define user needs, feature goals, and technical requirements
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions
• Create user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs that align with product requirements and enhance UX
• Develop and maintain a scalable design system to ensure consistency across our SaaS platform
• Translate complex workflows and technical concepts into intuitive, accessible interfaces
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate, feasible implementation of designs
• Advocate for the user throughout the development process, balancing usability, technical constraints, and business objectives
• Leverage analytics and user feedback to iterate on and improve designs following release
• Ensure all designs comply with accessibility guidelines and industry best practices
• Stay up to date on UX/UI trends, SaaS design patterns, and emerging technologies to continuously elevate design quality
• Clearly communicate design rationale and present concepts to stakeholders and leadership.
  

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, HumanComputer Interaction, Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years of product design experience in a software development environment
• Strong technical aptitude balanced with creative problem-solving and a hands-on approach
• Proven ability to work independently and take initiative
• Exceptional attention to detail and clear, concise documentation skills
• Excellent listening skills and the ability to deeply understand product, project, and client requirements
• Demonstrated success collaborating in multidisciplinary teams
• Skilled at sketching initial ideas and producing detailed functional specifications, wireframes, and mockups.
  

BONUS POINTS:

• Familiarity with web development concepts, programming languages, and tooling.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitLab).
• Background in data-intensive, spatial/mapping, or scheduling applications (an asset).
• Proficiency with mockup and prototyping tools, including online platforms.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain a Government Security Clearance. Eligibility requires candidates to be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada, or a citizen of a NATO country with a minimum of 5 years in Canada.
