Job Title: Systems Testing/QA Specialist Intermediate
Location: 222 Jarvis Street, Toronto, ON (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Start Date: June 25, 2025
End Date: March 31, 2026
Hours: 7.25 hours/day

Scope of Work:

The QA Specialist will be responsible for developing test plans, scripts, and cases for various components and executing these to ensure application quality. Responsibilities include advising on test strategies, tool selection, and resource requirements, and planning/executing GUI and non-GUI system tests including integration, performance, and user acceptance testing.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test plans, scripts, and test cases for systems and applications.

• Provide advice on testing strategy, planning, resource allocation, and tool selection.

• Lead defect triage meetings, produce defect summary reports.

• Execute manual and automation-based functional, non-functional, system integration, regression, load, and UAT tests.

• Conduct quality assurance reviews and validation.

• Remediate application design, code development, architecture, and UI/UX issues.

• Prepare technical documentation, presentations, and reports.

• Collaborate closely with project teams, testing leads, and IT leads.

Deliverables:

• Test Strategy Documents.

• Test Plans, Test Scripts, and Test Cases.

• Execution Reports for Unit, Integration, System, and User Acceptance Testing.

• Defect Reports and Summary Documents.

• Recommendations for improvements in system/application quality.

• Automation Testing Scripts using tools such as Azure DevOps.

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

• Solid experience with defect triaging, triage meetings, and defect summary reporting.

• 5 10 years' experience in automation and manual testing types: Black Box, Penetration, Security, System, Unit, AODA, and UAT Testing.

• Extensive experience preparing detailed Test Cases and Test Plans.

• Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps.

• Experience developing automation test scripts.

• Excellent skills using Jira and Azure DevOps for testing and tracking.

• Strong SQL skills for data validation, extraction, and testing.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Experience with Oracle DB, J2EE, HTML, XML.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Accessibility Testing (Screen Readers, WAI-ARIA tags, Syntax Checkers).

• Experience coding automation scripts and creating test data using DB models.

• Experience with UX and Front-End Development principles.

• Knowledge of Information Management principles and structured testing methodologies.

• Ability to remediate accessibility compliance (AODA).

• Bilingual testing experience (asset).
