Primary Responsibilities
- Purchases materials or other goods and/or coordinates activities involved with procuring products and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies.
- Receives and reviews requisitions requesting goods or services.
- Interviews and confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
- Expedites orders and requests as needed.
- Determines method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid and prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Maintains procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- May work with manufacturers or persuade potential vendors to undertake the manufacturing of custom-designed items according to user's specific needs and specifications.
- Coordination and scheduling of outside processing through delivery to the job site. Inclusive primarily of coating and secondarily of fabrication.
- Schedule/coordinate FTL and LTL shipments from outside processors to jobsite or Prospiant Plant, based on job requirements and designated due dates.
- Procurement of project specific goods and/or services. Document updates in project files.
- Purchase Order maintenance related to shipping date changes, pricing updates, and changes in material requirements.
- Document receipt of goods or services provided to and/or by outside processors (Epicor Receipt).
- Review and Verify invoices for payment. Document in project files.
- Assists with the import/export documentation for international freight.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics/Purchasing/Related
- 3+ years experience in Logistics/Purchasing/Related
- Experience in Microsoft Suite with proficiency in Excel
- Previous use of ERP System (Epicor preferred) but not required.
- Able to communicate in English (verbal and written) in a clear and conscious manner.
- Documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to sit up to 8 hours a day.
- Ability to traverse active construction sites.
- Ability to look at a computer up to 8 hours a day.
