Who you are:

Youre serious about troubleshooting and love the idea of getting your hands dirty in a real networking gig! You are passionate about technology and thrive on tackling complex technical problem. You have strong foundational knowledge of Cisco ISR/ASR routing platforms, Juniper MX Series, Fortinet FortiGate platform, and have some experience administering IPv6 networks. Overall, you take pride in your day-to-day work and recognize that achieving success includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement important network security measures!

Whatyoull do:

  • Manage and administer CIRAs global network on a day-to-day basis from configuration, design changes, patching, monitoring, and security.
  • Diagnose, isolate, and resolve all network related incidents that impact availability, security or performance.
  • Implement and enforce security policies and best practices according to CIRAs ISO 27001 policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Optimize and improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Document and update system configurations, network topology diagrams, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain firewalls to ensure proper security controls are in place.
  • Design technical specifications, obtain and refine quotes from vendors, help procure hardware, and ensure delivery, installation, configuration, and decommissioning.
  • Configure and maintain network devices from Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
  • Implement and optimize BGP routing policies to enhance network stability and efficiency.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, including Colocation service providers (e.g., Cologix, Equinix, etc...), global network providers (e.g., GTT, HE, etc...) and equipment manufacturers (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc...).
  • Create tickets and manage escalations with vendors and service providers.
  • Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve network operations.
  • Participate in a rotating 24/7 on call schedule.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or analysis.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto Network devices.
  • Strong knowledge of BGP routing protocols and Anycast network architecture.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., iCinga, SolarWinds, Cloudflare).
  • Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Understanding of network security principles and practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Experience with DNS and DHCP configuration and management.
  • Knowledge of IPv6 and its implementation in a large-scale network environment.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret network traffic data and logs (e.g., Kentik).
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is preferred.
  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP) is preferred.
