- Fleet Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet of 26 trucks (including 12 tractors, tandems, single axles, and 5-ton trucks) and 22 trailers, as well as a range of off-road equipment and lifting devices.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Provide expertise in troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical issues, with a strong focus on Freightliner and Peterbilt vehicles.
- Paperwork & Systems: Manage maintenance records, work orders, and inventory management. While some processes are automated, the ability to handle manual paperwork is essential.
- Leadership & Training: Oversee a 3rd-year apprentice, offering guidance and mentorship. Assist with the transition and knowledge transfer as the current lead mechanic prepares for retirement.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, particularly when operating lifting equipment and conducting repairs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners to maintain a streamlined operation.
- Certification: Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician License.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as a licensed 310T mechanic, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, particularly with Freightliner and Peterbilt vehicles. Experience with automated and manual documentation processes.
- Knowledge of Equipment: Familiarity with forklifts, ATVs, and specialized equipment used in the construction industry.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work on a range of equipment, from trucks and trailers to off-road machinery. Certification to operate lifting equipment is an asset.
